Corey has been gaming for the past 24 years, ever since the first time he played Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Not only has he been gaming for years, but he has also worked in the video game and simulation industry as a 3d artist for the past 10 years with titles such as Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar, Star Wars Galaxies, and simulators using UDK and CryEngine 2 under his belt.

I picked up my first controller at the age of five and don’t think i’ve ever dropped it since. From my old school genesis to the current generation systems, a controller has been glued to my hand.

I am dead serious.

People think it’s a tumor of sort growing out of my hand but I’m quick to tell them that it’s nothing more of a permanent attachment. When a new generation of systems come out I immediately get my hands replaced for new ones. Things are getting out of hand though and I’ll probably need a new arm transplant so I can manage playing all my games as one. So if you ever run into a guy that looks like Shiva, you’ll be able to point and say, “I know that guy.”

Otherwise I’m a gamer at heart who loves to escape away from the outside world and into something very surreal that only video games achieve. Whether it’s being your generic space marine or your handsome emo character with a huge sword, I’ll be anything or anyone. I’ve got a knack for good music when i hear it, and not afraid to tell you when something is bad. When i’m not gaming I’ll be running a tutoring center managing students and enriching their lives with eduction (YAWN) or cramming myself in a GMAT prep book.

Drew comes up with awesome ideas, makes fun of spelling and grammar mistakes, and writes the occasional RetroGrade article. However he spends most of his behind-the-scenes doing coding, maintaining server operations, and being ornery. He still loves to game, and loves a challenge.

James – Writer

Currently residing in Orlando Florida, James is believed in certain religions and cultures to be a powerful, supernatural entity (although proof of these claims is lacking). His passion for gaming has been alive and well since getting his hands on the original Gameboy, and has grown ever since.

While not a professional gamer, he has won a few dollars in many a foreign video arcade…when not annoying his girlfriend with his constant pressure to get her to pick up a controller with him, James works in sales, brews his own beer, and collects beetles…eclectic, no?

Hello, I’m the resident iPhone games reviewer, editorial writer, and the resident student of mythology. When I’m not doing any of the above I’m usually furthering my education, working at my day job, or neck deep in research of an ancient culture. I’ve been a gamer ever since the NES and have played virtually every form of game imaginable be it the video, board, live action and table top RP, or what have you forms.

The main thing to know about me is that I don’t curse in my reviews. No, that’s way too lazy to do. If a game’s deserving of a verbal beat down I brutally tell you, in great detail, why the game is bad. Whether it has deplorable graphics, sound that made me puke, a story that screams “WHY MUST I BE?!?!?”, or any other applicable descriptive phrases it’ll be in my review. I’ve never been afraid to use the entire scoring guide and, unlike some reviewers out there, I don’t consider a 3 as aweful. Well, back to work, good to meet you all.

Brandon has been a hardcore gamer ever since he got his first NES over Christmas of 1989 (five years old). Since then Brandon has continued to move with the video gaming market acquiring many consoles and developing a love for the retros along the way. He still owns his original NES, Genesis, Super Nintendo, and many others and they are all in working condition.

Brandon had a brief stint with competitive Counter-Strike involved with a notoriously goofy team known as the Giggle Warriors. After a decade of Counter-Strike, Brandon finally quit and has been getting back to his retro roots. For the most part newer and easier games are boring for him; he still is addicted to the high of beating the near-impossible.

Well where to start? I was a late gaming bloomer. I moved from Europe to Canada when I was 4 and couldn’t really afford a gaming device back then, so I would generally play games at friend’s house once in while. After we had settled in, my dad was working 3 jobs believe it or not, delivery, waiter and driver. After which he moved onto a better job I got my first gaming system for Christmas, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was amazing, I fell in love with platformers because it, I also ran up and down my house on Christmas day yelling I’m rich…frankly I felt bad for my grandparents because I ignored the 2 play swords they got me….oops. After the SNES, Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World I was on my way to a new world of gaming. I later went into computer gaming. Games like Quake series and Counter Strike became a must play for me, both competing in scrims and Cal. I do have 1 credit to give though, I do owe my cousin Sorin C, since he really got me into to computers to get me to the next step in gaming, custom rigs. Once the 2000s rolled in, my family was a lot more settled, I had basically every console released in my house. I gave up computer gaming for 3 years when it was getting too expensive, but fell back into it once I was in University. I currently attend the Computer Science Program aiming for my Masters at Ryerson University.

Favorite Games: Shenmue, Metal Gear Solid 4, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Halo: Reach,  Uncharted 2,  Mario Bros 3, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Super Smash Bros Brawl and New Super Mario Bros Wii
