Wii 2 To Enjoy The Same Advantage The 360 Had Over The PS3?

veryone remember how a few years ago, we were all waiting for the new PS3 to be released? Do you remember how the 360, which was launched about a year before the PS3? This gave the 360 an unprecedented advantage in terms of sales and popularity over the PS3. The PS3 was no longer the “cool new system”. Ever since then, Sony has been playing catchup with Microsoft.

This may now be true for the Wii 2. While Sony and Microsoft have announced that they will not release their new systems before 2014, Nintendo says it has something up its sleeve.

This is what Defaultprime had to say about it:

“According to IGN sources Wii 2 will be “significantly more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3″.

The new console will have 1080p resolution as standard, and also bring a new controller, which could have a touch screen.

We can’t wait for E3 2011 to see how Wii 2 looks and the specs of the console.”

I am equally anxious. While some people are speculating that Nintendo should have released the next console in 2009, right when Kinect and Move were reaching shelves, I personally think that it isn’t too late yet. I want to see how they plan to implement FPS into the motion sensors, perhaps in the form of a Wii controller attached to a gun / rifle module. What dyu think?
